Thanks! We have discussed a lot about this feature.
There is two differents approachs:
1- Reply an email
2- Send a new email
Both enable spammers send emails ... ooops!
Anyway, we will stay on the road about this.
I think you would be able to allow people to reply to emails without enabling spammers if you did the following: Require users to sign up for an account in order to send emails only in reply to incoming emails (but allow user to change send to in case sign up instructions require them to send to a different address). Set a practical limit to the number of emails that can be sent by that user to a resonable amount. This way abusers can be disabled and spammers would find pookmail useless for large scale spam.

I think we can do something using "captcha" and your suggestions in order to avoid spammers abuses.
the abality to send mail would be great - maby have a verification code or sometin to stop spammers
Don't mess up this service with too many features. pookmail is easy to use and stable.

It would be nice if I could easily download an attachment. Now I have to view the source and copy the content of the attachment. But obviously it doesn't work for zip and other binary file formats.
It would be nice if you cache remote images, so I would see them, but I won't be tracked.
Also you can offer a proxied browsing service (or go thru one already existent) to browse sites and don't be tracked.

Decoding of MIME-encoded subject lines would be nice.
It would be cool if instead of the email going away after 24 hours you could specify the length of life - like for some registrations it may take a week or something where you'd like to have it around a little longer ...say if you buy a product and you wanna wait a few days for the invoice/shipping notice to get to you.
I love logging into pookmail accounts with obvious names to read other people's email. That's awesome! Especially when they use pookmail to sign up for yahoo wallets and hotmail passports. Then you can go to yahoo or msn and say "forgot password" and the password will be received in the pookmail box, and then you could take over someone's acccount. Because they are stupid. Not that I ever have, but I noticed you could. Still, pookmail is a good thing.
This is a great idea... However, as anonymous points out, there are risks involved if someone finds out the e-mail address name. Therefore, it would be great if you could provide accounts, allow e-mail addresses to be associated to accounts, and from that point on, only that account can see e-mail content for that account. Of course, for e-mail addresses which are not associated to an account, then it behaves the same as it does today. As an example, if I set up an account, perhaps on my account page, I have the option to create an e-mail address... which would automatically be associated to my account. Anyone trying to access that feed would be required to provide account ID and password. Or... since another nice feature is creation of e-mail addresses on the fly... Then someone with an account can also associate an existing e-mail address to their acount... Of course, you may want to prevent someone from hijacking an address, so perhaps there is also a way while reading the feed, there is an option to specify "Never allow this e-mail address to be associated to an account". That way, someone who wants to remain anonymous (and not register an account with you) could specify that for their e-mail address, so someone else does not associate it to their account. For example someone who uses "john@poomail.com" may want to specify this so someone else can't take it over. Or another approach is you create an "anonymous" account with no password which allows anyone to associate an e-mail address to the anonymous account. This would prevent someone else from associating it to their account...

one feature which could mostly prevent address guessing on pookmail.com: generate and display a random address like eepoZ2di8ohgho@pookmail.com each time the homepage is displayed. Users can then cut&paste it into whereever they want. The address could then also be a link to the mailbox.
a lot of sites have caught on to the disposable e-mail game and are blocking pookmail and similar services. sometimes you'll register and won't get an error message, but the server will never send the confirmation, so as to fuck you up the ass and discourage you from 'trusting' great services like pookmail. other sites, such as digg.com will actively block with an error message: That email cannot be used. Please enter another address.
...so the obviously new 'feature' is to incorporate some sort of counter to this...hmmm...how to do this?
